Dispensing

Gas House Lane Surgery is a Dispensing Practice and in this ever-changing environment we are asking for your support by using our on-site Dispensary.

If you live more than a mile away (1.6km as the crow flies) from your nearest Pharmacy.  This means that you can order and collect your medication directly from the Surgery delivering a seamless dispensing service between our GPs and patients.

Our highly trained, dedicated, and experienced Dispensing Team is committed to providing a friendly, professional, and efficient service at all times. By getting to know you we deliver a personal service with excellent communication, and swift access to Doctors and the wider Practice Team to address any queries you may have.

Additionally, we offer a text messaging service that alerts you when your prescription is ready for you to collect from the Surgery.

We aim to safely dispense your medication within 2 working days of receiving the prescription request.

If you require URGENT medication, it can usually be dispensed for collection by late afternoon on the same day. However, we do encourage patients to re-order medication 7 days before they are due to run out of medication to help us avoid any potential supply issues.

To order your medication please follow the process described in the section headed “repeat prescriptions”.

We also offer a Managed Repeat system within the Dispensary for patients who are on stable medication and sometimes have difficulty in re-ordering their medication in time.  We set up the re-ordering for you so that you only have to come in and collect your medication every 28 days. We’ll let you know when its ready.

Current guidelines for prescribing are for a 28-day supply of medication. There are exceptions for HRT or the Pill. We will also make allowances for holidays.

Our Dispensary is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm. (Including over Lunch Times)

If you would like your Medication dispensed at the Surgery, please contact the Surgery on 01670 513 657 and ask to speak to the Dispensary.

Thank you for your continued support.
