Private Shared Care Agreements

Shared Care Agreements:

Gas House Lane does not accept shared care agreements from private health care providers.

Due to an increasing number of requests from private providers, we are unable to safely monitor patients to the high standards required by the shared care agreement.

Shared Care Agreements are not a ‘core’ part of our work in General Practice. This means they are not part of our NHS contracted work and we do not receive any additional support or resources to provide them.

Unfortunately, the extra workload of private provider shared care agreements impacts on our ability to deliver core services to our patients.

If you already have a shared care agreement in place from an NHS provider your care will continue. However, if you have a plan put in place by a private provider, responsibility for prescribing and monitoring your medication will remain solely with them.
